Jane Radstrom is a painter and designer based in Austin, TX.

Opening tonight: 100 Degrees summer group show at Wally Workman Gallery. If you’re in Austin, stop by the gallery tonight from 6-8pm! Several of The Girls series are there, including “Girl Reclining” and “Girl in Blue”. I have to say, they look fantastic framed and it’s great to see them hanging on the wall! The show will be up through August.

I’m excited to announce that I am now represented in Austin, TX by Wally Workman gallery! Wally has been instrumental in creating a serious market for art in Austin since the gallery opened in 1980 (32 years!). Some of the pieces from my Girls series will be showing during the upcoming summer group exhibition, “100 Degrees”. The gallery shows some very talented contemporary representational artists. I’m looking forwarding to seeing how my work is received.

Another from the series of girls. This one may or may not be done.

Another from the series of girl drawings. The yellow liquid is varnish that has been poured on. It adds an ethereal quality and also seals those parts of the paper and drawing so I could paint oil on top. But, I think this one is finished as it is.

Slightly creepy sketchbook page of eyeballs. Thinking about the lid wrapping around the eye and folding under the brow - so many different ways!
