ImagineFX contacted me last month about doing a tutorial for their special issue. The finished image was selected to be the cover! This is a “bookazine” published in addition to their regular monthly issues, with step-by-step workshops on traditional subject matter - portraits, still lives, landscapes, etc. After so much pastel work, it took a bit to shake the dust off my digital painting and get into it. I am very excited to share this now that it is in print! Available for pre-order.

Fresh off the easel - a new double portrait.
New work! “Death in the Afternoon” + the piece close to finished, on the easel. The colors are like Absinth and hazy glowing afternoon sun, so Hemmingway’s famous cocktail came to mind. The double entendre with the french meaning of death, “le petite morte” also suits.
