// The Last Installment - Fashion Drawings//

A final few drawings of the street fashion at SXSW 2012. Most of these people were in the Style X fashion event, but I am not sure that made much difference overall in the fashionability.

Even more drawings. From people out and about last night - Thurs March 15th.

// More SXSW fashion//

A fresh batch of sketches. Interesting how much the style has shifted from the ubiquitous jeans and hoodies of interactive - the convention center last weekend was a sea of similarity. Now there are pops and bursts of color everywhere. Billowy see through tops are really popular as well as long natural hair, mini shorts, skinny jeans, military inspired shoes and the whole native and nostalgic thing. All in all, not so different from 2011’s looks.

Austin has exploded with visitors for SXSW 2012. The festival opens with film and interactive segments and then transitions to the more famous music portion. All these out-of-towners make for some great people watching, and I love to see what everyone is wearing. At first, the weather was dismal and everyone was wearing whatever allowed them to stay a bit dry. Now that the clouds are clearing, the fashion is really blooming. I am looking forward to doing some more sketches as the bands roll in. Some of these are done on the spot in my sketchbook as the people quickly filter past, others are done after the fact.

// B is for Bicycle//

The opening for Art Crank was excellent! Pine Street Station was completely packed, with a really good vibe and lots of posters sold. Now that it’s up and hung, here’s my finished design. The opening was a one night thing, but all of the posters have migrated and are now on display and for sale at Mellow Johnny’s Bike Shop, through March 18th.

Here is a flickr with all of the posters and pics of the event: http://www.flickr.com//photos/cyouel/sets/72157629089395218/show/

When the event is over, you can purchase a “B is for…” poster from me directly. They are $40 + shipping. Email: janeradstrom @ gmail.com !

// Art Crank Austin Poster//

2 color screen print on 80lb Cougar Cover

Here’s a sneak preview of my poster for Art Crank Austin! I can’t show the whole thing until after the opening tonight. Art Crank travels to various cities, picks out 30 artists and asks them to do a hand printed poster about bikes. I decided on an iconic drawing of a bike along with the simple phrase, “B is for Bicycle” to celebrate the way that bicycles become a singular presence when they go from hobby to habit in your life. Hope to see you at the event tonight: http://artcrank.com/austin
